The UN hosted a seminar on "Islamophobia" recently. As expected, the events contained therein were sufficiently surreal as to make Dali seem photorealistic. More here.

holy crap. That's unbelievable. Lets run through this:
the assumption then is that if 9/11 was a political action, it was "justified" in the sense that nations are justified in making war on one another (sometimes). Then assume the US is at war with...who?!? Al-Qaida isn't a nation. I'd love to have our ambassador stroll right up to Bin Laden and serve him with Official Declaration of War papers so as he walks away a 500lb bomb drops on his head. But I digress...
So then they'd assert that well, the US is at war with the entire muslim world (if they want to call 9/11 a justified political action). Awesome, I'm glad finally somebody is saying it (other than Ryan).
But what really gets me is like the article states, why not take Bin Laden n' Co.'s words at face value? Sure their acts have a political element to them, but to deny their actions their inherent religiosity is unhelpful in understanding how to attain the end goal of peace.
anyways, great article.
