Do you like dictatorship and corruption?

If so, then you need to up your support for Third World aid.

About $2.3 trillion dollars has been spent on aid to the developing world over the past 50 years, and nations who received aid tended to experience exactly the same economic growth as nations that did not, developed or otherwise.

However, nations that receive aid are much more likely to be ruled by anti-democratic strongmen.

Conclusion? Foreign aid does more harm than good.

As you've stated it here, I think you're engaging in a bit of A, then B, therefore If A then B here (though that, of course, doesn't mean you're necessarily wrong). The article's position is a bit more nuanced (probably simply because this is a quick blog entry).

Definitely right on the quick entry. Yes, the article in question is much more nuanced, but either I could spend a lot of time writing out a summary which you would have to read, or you could read the link, so...
