A death row inmate scheduled to be executed in the immediate near future is arguing that he is simply too fat to execute.
Say what?
Apparently, he argues that because technicians have a hard time finding his veins and because he's taking an anti-seizure medication which has an interaction with thiopental, there is a good chance that his execution will not be painless.
This from a man convicted of raping and murdering two young women.
For the record, this is an execution. It's sort of supposed to hurt. The end result is not relaxation, or an improvement in overall health, but a corpse.
A different court of appeals apparently rejected exactly this argument a few years ago. As well they should have.
