Sticking a mic in your hand does not make you a worship leader

Any more than sticking feathers up your butt makes you a chicken. Congregational singing is far too important to be left to the chumps that usually get up on stage and "lead worship."

The author makes a good point that we don't let just anybody up to the pulpit to preach, but we'll apparently let anyone who raises their hand be the congregation's "other pastor," sometimes not even requiring a modicum of musical talent.

If whatever you're doing for singing in church means that you can't hear the congregation singing--either because you're too loud or they're just standing there--you're doing it wrong.
